I ordered one of these just for poops and giggles, seeing as how inexpensive they are. I figure I can throw it in the car, or the toolbox, or whatever, or even keep it as a bartering item should times get tough.

It arrived today and it is a no-nonsense chunk of serious steel. But what really impressed me was that it came with a very nice Secure Ex sheath, and not those crappy paper mache ones that have traditionally accompanied their bargain basement knives.

Color me impressed.

Wait, in my new CS catalog it's pictured with a codora sheath. How much and from where?

Wow...that impresses me too. I did a quick search on ebay and most of them that I saw there had the cheapo nylon sheaths, however a couple had the secure-ex. I need to make a mental note to be sure to track down a secure-ex if I ever decide that I need one.

Was the price about the same?

Sounds like a good deal. I personally love cold steel but hey to each his own. There cordura sheaths aint bad. My finn bear has been thrrough some very rough stuff with me through the last month. Couple of hiknig/climbing trips gettin scraped against rocks and trees. No damage so far.

100% agree with OP. I got mine from Budk with TOP NOTCH secure-ex/KYDEX sheath. The knife is like 1/8 in thick 1055 carbon steel and is great for pretty much anything -- tactical use is where it shines but it can be used to baton/chop if need be. Very versatile knife for $22 + $8 shipping. I can't really think of any knife that really beats it in terms of value (except maybe 1085 blade blanks that can be cord wrapped -- $16-$19 from atlanta cutlery)
