So I'm just saying but I am a big fan of Cold Steel band knives and Lin Thomsons work altogether, That being said I am praying of the day when a true Cold Steel Roman Gladius is designed and sold. Yes I know there is the mechete but I mean a REAL quailty Gladius, like the dragonfly katana or the gross messer, Im praying for a Gladius to be sold in the sword series in Cold Steels line up.

Will this day come???

check out the cult of athena web site.they have alot of different types.they are not cold steel but at least it will keep you busy until cold steel makes a higher quality one.

Become a member of cold steel forums and make the suggestion. It's probably been done before but it can't hurt.

Ya I have been thinking about geting a diffrenet brand, I do own a Cas Hanwei, or an Art Gladius. I just like the fact that all of Cold Steels swords are battle ready and highly durrable. Cuz when Im invaded by Carthigians I might need that.

It might but why wait.......

You did say "REAL Quality" did you not, Visit "Next Generation" at Albion Swords, A few notches above CS swords
A few notches? How is that measured, exactly?

Actually in this case thats pretty easy
Lets set the mood by saying this is not a CS bashing
I have been buying there stuff since the eighties

CS swords are made overseas as generlized swords for a generlized market. For the money there a good value but if what you want is something more historically acurate then you have to look elsewhere as in Albion or Arms and Armor just to name a couple. If all you want is a resonable copie then there is lots to choose from and many are very good. A sword is very complex in it's construction and few know this, Albion is one of the one's that know. Albions are fully researched and great attention is payed to capturing the geometry, balance and feel of the actual historical piece in otherwords they spend a lot of time blueprinting orginals to get there "recreations correct". There swords are not duplicates of originals (with the exception of the mesuem line) but rather they are indicative of a particular time period when swords were state of the art technology. CS swords are more in line with say Del Tin or Windlass swords.
I guess a good anology is in the world of cars there are VW's, Corvetts and McLaren F1's, it's the same in the world of swords.......

i bought that exact sword in my hunt for a reasonable machete the only stupid thing is that it was labled as an extreme machete gladius

GO ROME SPQR by the way i bought mine at dark knight armory

Check out the Himalayan Imports Manjushree Sword. It is not a Gladius, but the blade style appears similar generally (short broad double edged). Handle is different but its a very cool sword.
