How much are you likely to abuse it? If you're going to take care of your knife, it will likely be just fine. If you want to beat on it and abuse it, you could break it, although I think you'd probably have a tough time.

Under chopping/batoning use, I doubt you'd break it. Just don't hit it with rocks or metal.

a square inch of weld (basically steel) can hold on avg 60,000 lbs of pressure, subtract for the HT and there you go. have fun trying to break it
