COLD STEEL "HAI HOCHO" Old Style vs. New likes and dislikes

Have become interested in the merits of the Cold Steel "HAI HOCHO" knife.
What do you think of it. Is the new one made in Taiwan as good as the old one made in Japan. Does it come in a plain blade?
