Cold Steel Hawk handle question.

Does Cold Steel still make both lengths of handle?The shorter for the old generation of hawks and the slightly longer ones for the newer ones?
 
I'm not sure if they have discontinued the short hafts. I just bought a trail 2 spikes and two of the new frontiers, the trail came with the short haft and the new ones with the long. The trail hawk could have been old stock though.

A buddy and I are going to be buying hawks in the next couple of days.he wants a spike hawk and I want pipe hawk.We both want extra handles (we throw a lot).
 
The spike is pretty amazing to throw, first time I threw it the spkie buried almost to the haft ;-)) It's pretty heavy but really nice to throw and I like the longer handles a lot.

I think the new ones all come with the 22" haft.

IIRC Wolf1989 bought a Norse hawk recently and it came with the 22" haft. Of course, you might want to email whoever you are going to order from to make sure they don't send you old stock with the shorter haft (unless that's what you want).
 
Oddly enough we throw at work.There's a huge yard with 100's of old busted pallets so we just set up some soppy old thing and throw hawks at it on our breaks.Right now we're throwing a riflemans and a frontier hawk (both mine).He has the bug now and is dying to get his first.
Is the new pipe hawk as heavy as the riflemans hawk?

Hey Savage, the folks I order from in the US are fast and efficient. They have spikes, frontiers, trails but not the "pipe hawk". If you want the contact Email me at songofthewoods@hotmail.com
The spike and frontier come with 22 inch hafts, the trail has the 19 inch haft.
