I have code4 in aus8a steel ,but this grind just cuts much better than most flat ,convex and hollow grinds.Doesnt matter what kind of materials are being cut, wood, meat, soft materials etc.It just has convex edge on it.But for edc and possibly self defense I think it would cut much better than most flat grinds popularized by other companies........etc....What are your opinions, mine is high deep hollow for folders and small fixed blades and Full or partial convex for choppers.

I find the deep hollow grind very effective on a wide variety of materials, in folders its a toss between hollow as done by cold steel or ffg. Ffg for belt size knives is also preferable but I put up with saber grind in my current belt knife and use my folders for slicing or cutting when precision is needed.

I like a high hollow for folders (Recon 1's , Code 4, Kershaw Blackout and Blur) and I like the sabre grind in my Ka-Bars.
