I really like the blade and the g10 handles, and I think it would make a good camping folder. Just some questions on it:
-there was this youtube video where the guy said there was some rattling in the handle. Is the present on the newer versions?
-Does the handle have any hotspots?
-can you strike a match off of the handles (not really essential but cool)?
-does the tip seem weak?
-how good are the ergonomics (does it fill the hand, 4 finger grip, etc.)
-(this goes with the previous) is it comfortable in a variety of positions?
-Is the action stiff?
-Is the back spring stiff?
-What is the cutting edge?
-Overall, Is it recommended?

Thanks for all the help (whether you give it or not)

The rattling in the handle is from the stop pin. This from shaking the knife in the closed position and it has to be shaken rather hard for it to happen in most Cold Steel knives with the Tri-Ad Lock.

I have never had any trouble with hot spots on the handle, but I haven't used it for extended cutting tasks to know this.

I don't know about striking a match off the handle either.

Yes, you want to be very careful with the tip. It pierces quite well, but no prying.

I find the handle ergonomics to work very well. (I have all three sizes.) I tend to carry the 4-inch version the most.

I find it to work best in the saber grip or chef grip.

I don't understand what you are talking about here.

Yes, the back spring is fairly stiff, yet is still easy to close one-handed once you practice with it a bit.

I think it is just under 3-inch. I am measuring 2.5-inch true cutting edge.

Yes, I believe that this is one or the more under-rated knife designs around. They can be had in the original Japanese Aus-8A for $30 or less. Or you can wait for the new ones with Carpenter CTS-XHP, which is a stainless and powdered-process steel.
