hi folks, i am new here , as well as new to posting to a forum. i am very interested in knives (collecting and using). one of my favorites is an emerson cqc7. i bought a knife quite a few years ago, and none of the knife dealers at the local gun and knife shows can put a value on it. i have a cold steel (sorry, i notice some people don't like them) intruder bowie, new in box with certificate, serial number 298 of 500. can anyone give me some idea what this knife may be worth now? thanks for your help....bud

Wasn't that the one that Cold Steel rehandled? I believe it was the recon bowie with a different handle and and pretty much nothing else done to it? If you could post a pic. that would really help.
If you're not able to post pics here, email it to me at thebladerunr@cox.net and I'll post it for you and we'll see if anyone else knows anything different about the knife.

I have seen them at "Buy It Now" prices on a popular auction site for significant sums of money---in the high three-figure/low four-figure range. That being said, they didn't sell. It was a limited production knife, and was made in the United States of American in Carbon V, if I'm not mistaken. A nice, limited run knife...I can't give a value for it, however.

I've seen them go on ebay, but very rarely for a decent price. It was made for the movie "Flight of the Intruder", at least that is what I thought. I could be wrong and have been known to be on occasion, so there you go. keepem sharp

It was the knife William Dafoe (Cole) carried in his flight suit and used when he gutted a NVA soldier. It was a special limited edition Cold Steel Trailmaster Bowie named the "Intruder Bowie". It has a black micarta coffin grip and a serial-numbered triangular "Intruder" stamp on each blade.

They are basically a trailmaster made from Stainlass steel in Japan with an A-6 Intruder logo stamped on the side and then the blade and stainless guard were blackened. And they came in the older nice black leather sheaths that CS had made.

I have two of them and they are very hard to come by. Here is the full story on them in these scans. I have one that I picked up used (S/N -058) and have used quite a lot over the years and it has held up very well. I have seen them sell for as much as $500. They made 500 of them and they were $250 when CS sold them in about 1991 and were sold out within days.

This is mine that I have used for a while, I really like it and it holds a nice edge.

Hi Bud,
Did you ever get that Intruder sold? I have one that I have just recovered from my Dad's estate and am curious of the value as well.
-Thanks!
