Cold steel khukuri chopping video

You are not chopping through your target, but stopping your swing at the initial point of contact. Work on your chops so that you are aiming at a point beyond the item you want to cut, that's where you want to direct your swing to create chopping/cutting force. Don't stiff arm your chops, don't lock your elbow, and learn to roll your wrist like a hinge just before contact to add extra momentum & force from the weight of the blade. Let the knife do the hard work, not your body.

Lastly, get a real khukri from Nepal (try Himalayan Imports), you'd only need about 1/3 the number of swings you took using that CS.

Well. it is a kukri MACHETE with a thinner blade and less weight
than a regular kukri which usually has at least a .25 in. blade. I
would hope a regular kukri would do better. I think he would be better
off with a CS Magnum Kukri Machete which will do 90% of what an expensive
kukri would do. Or maybe an SK5 CS KUKRI instead of an HI. I wouldn't trust a HI Kukri as their have been a few quality control issues and their is a video
on their wesite on how to check a blade for strength. This seems ridiculous
to have to do their quality control for them when they are $100+
I'll probably be tarrred and feathered(or banned) for saying this, but bad QC,
rat tail grip tangs and unkown steel for $100+? No thanks

thank u for the constructive criticism CWL, i plan on picking up a HI fairly soon, but at the moment i have higher priorities on my knife list.

Stoth, not sure what stupid look you speak of, granted i do have a naturally goofy face. :)
