...are pretty decent knives! I just bought the Recon Scout and the SRK and I got to say, some really HIGH QUALITY knives! And sharp too. I cut my thumb big time wiping off the grease from the blade! Comfortable to hold and nice to look at. From the research that I have done they seem to preform very well for any type of situation. For the price they are more then worth it. Another thing is you can practically get them any where with out waiting. I found this web site which seems to have the best sales and prices on the Cold Steel knives. Check them out.

I am a huge Busse fan but I could get used to taking the Cold Steel into the woods. I also bought three of thier Kukri knives. Just waiting for them to get in! To bad thier forum no longer exists. Maybe we can bring them back??? Any body else out there feel the same!

Take care.

I bought a Cold Steel SRK a few years ago, just to try out the Carbon V steel.

After working over the edge a bit, I have a rugged 1/4" thick knife that is as sharp as any blade in my home, including my hollow-ground and flat gound ats-34 folders.

Great blades with great steel.

bad4u,

The Cold Steel SRK isn't 1/4 inch thick. It's "only" 3/16th. The Trail Master Bowie, and it's shorter mate, the Recon Scout, are both a little OVER 1/4 inch THICK.

Cold Steel ARE my favorite knives...They must be as I have about 17 of 'em, and I'm looking for more!.

CS certainly deserves credit for innovative designs, great steel and excellent value, IMHO. But I only have seven or eight.

I have more CS than any other company's knives. Some are good, most are great, especially considering the money.

We all have sources we find ourselves comfortable dealing with ... I recommend Bayou Lafourche Knife Works http://www.knifeworks.com/ and One Stop Knife Shop http://www.onestopknifeshop.com over Botach.

I got a few small items from Botach, no problem at all, but I've been warned off by the bad experiences other forumites have had.

I have a Vaquero Grande,Gurkha Light Kukri,Scimitar and a Para Edge neck knife.I love CS knives, good quality and very strong.

You should check out the convex edge they put on their stainless model Trailmasters. Really sweet for a production knife!

Have several myself, and can't complain about either one of them.

Only have the SRK and it is very good for what I got it for, a sharpened prybar, carbon steel at a reasonable price.
