Cold steel kubon vs tanto lite . Which one is the better overall knife ?

I like the Kobun.

I like the AUS-8 steel, I enjoy the Kray-Ex for the handle material and I greatly prefer the sheath.

Subjective stuff on my part I'll agree... But for me the Kobun is the "better overall knife".

Better yet would be the Recon Tanto. $30 will get you one at Midway USA.

My personal tastes lead me away from Tanto blades.
I also like more compact knives for EDC...
I guess I'm not the guy best-suited to help you with your decision.

kobun has better steel aus8 and thinner handle and 1/2" or so less blade.

tanto lite has 4116 or 4034 steel depends on old stock or new stock. thicker handle and a plastic or nylon sheath..which i prefer myself. depends on which steel and new or old stock.

tanto lite feels bigger and is. handle is longer too. right now theyre both lower dollar, so pick whichever. if ya dont like it, youre not out too much.

I like them both for different reasons. like the kobun as its thin and good blade length. also like the tanto lite as its a cheapened up version of the master tanto.

all three steels are easy to sharpen. aus8 will hold edge longer. its corrosion resistance isn't as good as 4116 or 4034 though. trade off deal.

Personally, I would go for the Kobun. It just seems to be a really good compact fixed blade. The tanto lite looks sort of cheap to me. And nylon sheaths are generally terrible.

the cheaper feel is evident in the t-lite.
either way, the bottom line is that
they both cut and
