This is a cold steel Kukri Machete. The $15 to $20 ones. I found a place by my house that has them. I picked up a bunch. They are great for the woods . Very tough. I was chopping down little trees to build a shelter, and spliting logs. and VERY FUN to throw. All the weight is at the front and it hits HARD and sticks DEEP. I'm telling you, for $15 these are tough, and fun.:D
Now this is the first one I messed around with and ''Modified'' lastnight. I ground the edge way down then sharpened it on a sharpmaker, on the coars stones. Now it's SHARP for what it is. It can cleanly slice paper and slice through fruit and things. it can even shave alittle arm hair if you push real hard a bunch of times and get your arm all red. HAha. I got the ''tiger stripes'' or ''urban cammo'', or whatever you want to call it with the sanding flap wheel, and buffing wheels with my durabuilt rotary tool, fake dremel. Then I rubbed lemon juice all over it and let it sit for a minute, and that turned it that more greyish color. Then I washed the lemon of, dried it, then put Gun Grease all over it. This first one, I just was messing around and did it real quick. But with the ones I have, and I'm gonna get a bunch more, I'm going to really take my time to get them as SHARP as possible, and to make the tiger stripes really perfect, because these are TOUGH and CHEAP, and when sharp make awesome combat weapons. on the finished ones I'll put lanyards on them, then pass them out to all my friends and family as they would make awesome combat weapons in a ''Night of the living dead'' zombie fight type situation. They are fast, and with one in each hand, sneaking around with your group ,you'd be ready to kick some zombie ass. Heads would be rolling. Lop off legs and arms with one swing. What do you think guys? and they are super tough. and for $15. and alittle work. And the work on them is as much fun as swinging them in the woods. and with the speed, with one in each hand, and the limb removing ability, I mean lop of the leg in a swipe ,and the thing can't walk, then lop the head with the other one. I think these are amongst the best Zombie killing weapons out there. Cheap to stockpile, and never runs out of ammo.

They look great. I really must let my daughter show me how to post photos on the internet. My satin-finished Ghurka is beautiful.

If you take too much off the edge, the zombie bones might dull it pretty quickly. By the 4th or 5th zombie femur, you would have a problem. Not that you wouldn't have a problem already, what with all the zombies attacking, but still...

Cool job on making something you enjoy even more out of a production blade.

You know though... you are a bit of a loon on the whole zombie thing..... :D

Nice job.. Jurry is out on the urban camo though...

I got thier CS Magnum Kukri for $8 or so.. some kind of blow out i could not resist...
lots of time into the edge so far... will get some more... but remember not to thin her too much, or she may roll...

not too fond of the grip, but it works...

all work done on 1x30 belt so far... plus i added a 'stabbing' tip (not quite a penetrator).

I wasn't going to make it urban cammo it first, but I slipped a few times and saw what it was doing, then just thought,Ummm.

Hey Killerskill I like the urban camo thing you have goin on,I would try and leave more of the black next time though so the stipes are thinner if you know what I mean!
For that price you can't go wrong eh!!!

Yeah definitley. Also, I didn't make the edge too thin. I thinned it all out at about 2o degrees, then ground and sharpened it at 25. I went outside and chopped wood just fine. I could cut small trees clean through in one swipe. Yeah it dulled alittle but it didn't roll the edge or chip it at all. So it cuts like a knife and chops like a hatchet. The edge just reminds me of a really sharp hatchet. I was also chopping up cinder blocks with the back side of the blade like they do in the corny video with no real damage. Loads of fun for $15.

if you take the time to re-grind the edge to a workable angle and sharpen it, these are really awesome deep woods beaters. Awesome throwers too if your into that like me:D. Great limb removers. Just alot of bang for the buck:thumbup:

The more I hear about these Kurkris or whatever the better they look for actual woods carry. Much more compact than my cold steel panga machete and people are claiming the cut slice and chop quite well. Plus throwing is one thing I love to do but have far to few knives that are decent throwers.

My kukuri machete is one of my favorite knives ever. I don't like the magnum as much but if they were 8$ I would buy a couple. I have considered a choil to make it easier to choke up on. I have the CS bolo and a tramontonia panga but the kukuri is way better.

VICTOR L ROSS, You wanted to know how to post pics. take pics with your digital camera and upload them on to your comupter and save then in your pictures. You can usually upload them from you camera simply by pluging it in the computer and following the directions. or if you see a pic you like on the net, right click on it and save it to your pictures. Then go to an Image hosting site like this one-http://photobucket.com/register.php?link=topmenuor try imageshack. They are pretty much the same. after you open an account you can upload pics. do this by hitting browse, that will pull up your files/pictures. Just click the pic you want to load then just click it. that will put the name and location of the pick in a box, then just press UPLOAD. and then it's there on Photobucket. repeat the same thing for more pics. Now under the pics you've loaded are 3 different codes. the middle one is the HTML code. use that one for places like myspace or whatever. you can use it in emails too. just right click the code and copy it. then go to where you want the pick to be and paste the code, and next time you see the page the pic will be there. You could write,"this is my new knife"(the code would be pasted here) and there will be the pick of your knife next time you refesh or look at the page, or send the email. The third code down in the,

Horn dog, how do you like the CS Gurhka Kukri. I have had my eye on that one for ever (but before I bought one I ran across a new SanMai Trailmaster bowie for $150 and could not pass that up). I bought one of the magnum kuk machetes but decided not to keep it.
