I just got a Cold Steel kurkri machete and was wondering how it compares to the Condor version? The Cold Steel kurkri doesn't seem to hold an edge well but other than that its great.

The Condor version is MUCH nicer in pretty much every respect. Steel, fit and finish, edge, sheath, warranty, etc. It costs a little more, but it's WELL worth it in my opinion.

I have a Cold Steel Ghurka Lite (1/8" thick Carbon V) that CS took out of their lineup and replaced with the Kukri machete and a Condor Kukri -- the Condor balances, cuts, and chops as well as the CS and the wood handle feels better to me.
The Ghurka Lite & Condor are both much better cutter/choppers than the CS Magnum Kukri machete I picked up for my brother in law a few years back as a gift, which is the only one of their machetes I've handled -- for a reason. edge had to be ground, retention is horrible, it dents/chips/rolls cutting light vegetation, etc...

They really amaze me what kind of product they can put out for so little money--and I say that genuinely, not just because I sell them. My enthusiasm for all things Condor started YEARS before I set up shop, as anyone who knows me on here can tell you! If you end up with one, it won't be your last. :p
