Now on sale , less than $200 .

Except I'm more disappointed than interested .

Still trying to like anything that is designed from GSM .

Overpriced , uninspired , and not in the same spirit of the old Cold Steel .

Maybe I'll give the Atlas lock a try someday , at some huge discount ...or not .

Go ahead ...change my mind ! 🤨

Can not do this, sir. I think the same. Aside from the lock, the knife overall is ugly as hell to me. Prices here in europe are insane. I could get an espada xl aus10 over the s35vn engage and still get some change back.
And I'm not interested in fidgety locks anymore. I use all my knives and want them to be safe and easy to operate, and that's it. The atlas lock was taken to market to counter the demko 20.5s and it's shark lock, good luck with that.😏

I had the engage and the biggest issue is when you flip the blade closed it has a tendency to bounce back open its very annoying. xhp blade and carbon fiber do not make it much better.I hate the blade to handle ratio wish they didnt do the finger choil it needs a bigger wider blade that better matches that handle...

Sorry but I cannot change your mind. I'm not too happy with this brand anymore. So I cannot help you. I really wanted to see GSM continue the Legacy and be very successful. But it's not happening. Whenever I look on a vendor's website I can't help but look at different brands. My next knife will probably be a Spyderco, zero tolerance or maybe another USA made Kershaw. They say Never Say Never but I don't have any intentions of buying anything from Cold Steel GSM anymore.

the engage seems to work better if you tighten the pivot screw a bit, the knife wont flip open and close like an axis lock but it will open and close smoothly and this will help with the light detent that the knife comes with

Just ordered the 3” S35VN Engage, hopeful that the detent will suffice. They should look into how the new deadbolt locks have a dedicated adjustable detent screw.

I can not speak to the 3.5” model, but I got the 3” in yesterday, and the detent is pretty damn sufficient. I would it is better than on my 20.5, not a knock as I absolutely love that knife.

maybe they added a stronger detent to the newer ones, the bigger engage i tried would easily come out the handle until the pivot was tightened to the point were it could not be flicked open and close
