I recently bought a Master Tanto San Mi for 20 bucks at a pawn shop. It has some sharpening scratches on the blade. Does anyone know if cold steel will recondition the blade?

Why would you want it reconditioned? I know cold steel sharpens, but I doubt they recondition. Anyone worth paying to do the job will charge much more than you paid for the knife, possibly more than what a new knife will cost. If you use the knife, then you will end up sharpening it again and replacing the scratches you paid to remove.

If you must remove scratches, start with 600 grit sandpaper and work your way up to 1500 grit (or even 2000) and then a buffing wheel. If you must have a perfect knife and can't do the project yourself, buy a new one. Otherwise, use the knife in good health.

Wow went to the cold steel web site, did you see the price of that master tanto 290 bucks. Thats the reason I want it reconditioned. Im no mathamatical wizard or anything but aint that like 30 times what i paid? Gee I think I might haven gotten a deal I will have to ask my wife to be sure though.

I was watching the Ginsu commercials and they said that their knives normally sold for 500 bucks, but I can buy them for $19.99 as long as I called within 15 minutes...

The knife goes for about 170 from a reputable internet shop. Brand new, in the box, warranty and all...no scratches, no hype, no Bull kacki

Hey Mutt you sound a little jealous there. See I can spend 50 bucks on the thing and still have a bargin, and sell it for a nice profit. DUH!
