Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite, a neat little blade

I just got the CS Mini Tuff Lite Plain Edge, and I'm diggin it. It's got a lot of handle real estate for such a small closed size. There's zero movement once opened, and the blade is nice and sharp. I think it will be a great utility blade, great for opening packages, scoring lumber or drywall, and for the price, I'm prepared to abuse it. As with all of my Tri-Ad lock knives, I think the engagement depth is overkill and it's a little hard to disengage the lock to close the knife. I don't love the clip, but it's not bad. Overall, a great value.

This has potential! Drill/tap for tip up carry and wave mod the blade. Then fabricate a new backspacer with integral finger ring... Tri-ad lock kerambit!

Thanks for the mini-review Muaddib1116.
I noticed that one a few weeks ago and dropped it in my cart to add if I order something else.
Seems a decent little item for a very low price.

Yeah, that's exactly how I looked at it, and I'm not regretting it!

I'm not sure how a kerambit is used, but the Mini Tuff Lite has a linerless grivory handle, so I'm not sure how much force it could take, especially tapped.

I was under the impression the handle was all one piece, so there'd be no way to change the back spacer. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

On closer inspection, it seems that the clip screws are not screwed into tapped grivory, rather metal nut inserts were molded into the grivory handle. As for the handle, it looks like it was two molded pieces bonded together, so essentially a one piece handle. I'm sure you could mod it, by sawing it in half lengthwise and adding a backspacer. It would be a remarkable amount of work on a 20 dollar piece.
