I went to the CS website and they don't list the Voyager series anymore. Anyone confirm this plz? I got my catalog a couple of days ago and they're gone in there too.

I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the AL & Recon 1 (w/o any liners). They must be light but I really liked the tank like build of the old one.

Also wondering how much of those long handles are usable due to the big bolsters on the front and back of them. (big hands here)

Anyone want to list their favorite, AK, AL, Recon 1, Spartan and what's cool (or not cool) about it please do. Thanks! :)

If you need convincing, look for the YT video that Andrew Demko made demonstrating the overall strength of the AL. I own the AK, AL, and RC1 CP, I have no interest in the Spartan (too mall ninja for me). I would venture to say that the 2010 Triad models are tougher than the "Ultralock" models were. Either way, it is a relativly small investment. If you do not like it, sell it off.
As with many posts with similar concerns, if you plan on:

Chopping down trees = Axe
Cutting through steel cables = plasma cutter
Slicing through drywall = razor knife
Driving nails = hammer
Prying car doors off = pry bar
Digging a fox hole = shovel
Cutting stuff, opening boxes, breaking down cardboard, food prep = knife
;)

I spent my lunch hour reading the new catalog and the AK's AL's and Recon 1's all look very nice.

I'm liking the adustable pivots a lot. I confirmed with Ankerson, after watching his Recon-1 "hard use" video, that he was able to get the small amount of blade play out by an adjustment.

If you haven't seen his vids, they're very good. In the REC-1 he mentioned a slight amt. of play after hard use, but it adjusted right out and is 100%.

I have no qualms about picking up the Recon 1 now. I'm already waiting for an Andrew Demko custom Amer. Lawman which should be very cool.

Anyone know if the 2010 Rajah 2 is the same size as the previous model. I don't recall the specs. of the pre-2010 but my Rajah 1 was a pocket sword!

The CS folder line-up, with slightly different designs - Tri Ad locks - looks very promising.

the rajah 1 and rajah 2 are the same length. i think the handle thickness will vary because of the material on the 2.

the voyagers are supposed to have the triad in 2011 i think.

i also prefer the lawman with the liners.

I also prefer the lawman with the liners. Does the current Lawman have liners? I was looking for that in the catalog and I didn't see it listed - may have missed it though.

no question the unlined lawman is tough, and the mating of the tang to the stop pin is supposed to have been improved.

i just like the feel of the thicker lined version. i also like the jimping on the spine.
