this shuld start something:D ...cs voyager or bm afck....i lay down on the cold steel side of the tracks:p ...always found bm too thin

I like both knives, but imo, they are not comparable. Benchmades are of much higher quality than CS knives.

AFCK all the way. It's one of the best production folders out there. In regards to materials and fit and finish it's vastly superior to the Voyager.
I don't think it's too thin, IMO it's plenty solid. A thinner blade also contributes to a more practical blade geometry.

Ditto on Benchmade!

Got both, get the Benchmade; it is currently my edc. (And if you possibly can drop the extra cash on something more expensive by BM. I went to a local gun store and held everyone of their BM's and I was amaized... it is worth every extra penny.)

Spyderco all the way, for me, although Cold steel runs a close 2nd.:D.

Benchmade folders are so superior to Cold Steel's offerings that it's almost unfair to compare the two. That "thinness" is generally referred to as proper blade geometry.

What is it about Cold Steel that you would prefer their products over a similarly sized Benchmade?

I don't own any Cold Steel products, but I can tell you that all my Benchmades (705, 710, 720, 940 and 941) are first rate. I'd go Benchmade, if I were you.

Shaft it all depends on the model of the AFCK you are talking about.

If you are comparing the new AFCK and the VOYAGER then there is no comparison. If you compare the early gen AFCK's with the new VOYAGER then the VOYAGER might just win. But that is a big might.

Which version of the AFCK do you own Shaft.

Are you ex Marines by any chance since you love the CS stuff so much I know many Marines like the Cold Steel.

Buy the one that pleases you most. If you come down on the Cold Steel side of the tracks, go for it. Of my Cold Steels, they've all had excellent fit and finish and came with hair-popping edges. The Voyagers are affordable, have AUS-8A steel, lightweight - yet extremely tough - Zytel handles, and a choice of tip and serration configurations. Their combination of AUS-8A blade steel and serrations works very well.

I'd recommend one of their Vaquero series over their Voyager series because they look cooler and have flat grinds and large recurves.

There are several reasons to buy the AFCK, too. It's thin blade is one of those reasons (assuming you want to use the knife to cut). So is the axis lock, D2 steel, handle shape, G10 scales, Benchmade's outstanding customer service, and ambidextrous pocket clip with choice of tip-up or tip-down carry.

Glockman99 also mentioned Spyderco, which I also think are great. In fact, why not buy yourself a Delica or an Endura and forget about laying down near tracks?
