I know the OSS was made in two configurations, but how can one tell between the two? I assume one or both of them are marked on the blade. Does anyone own this knife in AUS8?

I bought a UWK in 4116 krupp and it had no markings on the blade regarding the steel used.

They made them out of 4 types of steel, the first 2 were 420,and Carbon 5. I havent seen (or have) it in AUS 8.

The steel is called AISI 1.4116 and it contains about:
0,5% Carbon
15% Chrome
Below 1% of both Molybdenium and vanadium.

Aus 8 with higher carbon but lower chrome would have worse corrosion resistance and toughness but higher hardness and wear resistance.
