I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, but the search function has not been working for me at all for the past few days. I've tried to search on my computer both at home and at work - don't know what's wrong. So, apologies in advance.

Anyways, Cold Steel is going to be holding it's (in)famous Parking Lot Sale later this month. Since I live in the Los Angeles Area which is not too far from the sale in Ventura, I was thinking of going up there mainly for fun and to see if I can pick up any bargains.

I know there are some pretty mixed feelings about Mt. Lynn C. Thompson, his products, and especially his DVDs. But, I'd like to hear from someone who has experienced the sale firsthand. Is it worth the time and drive?

I've never been there, but, if you like the knives it would have to be worth the trip. Good Luck, and if you go, tell me about it.

There must be someone on this forum that has been to the CS parking lot sale. If I can pick -up some CS stuff cheap enough, maybe I can test a few item cutting up boxes, car parts, etc.:)

On the other hand, if no one here has ever gone, I can't imagine the sale being that good.

For the last 2 years, the sale has been extremely busy and there have been lots of great bargains.

There is also the possibility that old discontinued items may be pulled out of backstock to be moved and great discount.

Good luck and enjoy the sale.

i went to the very first one and plan to be at this one. Deals are to be had on the parking lot sale. only thing is you have to be there early, otherwise the good deals go fast.

I've never had much success with the search function, either it works poorly or not at all. It's the same at a handful of forums I visit. I've become accustomed to searching via google. There are a few ways to do it. In google type:
blahblahblah site:www.bladeforums.com
If you have the Google toolbar installed, there is an option called Current Site that wil search whatever site you are currently visiting. Sorry if you already know about this, but I know someone will benefit. It has definitely enhanced my Bladeforums experience (as well as other BBS style forums).
