Is anyone planning to drive to the Cold Steel Parking Lot Sale on May 22? All my friends are either too politically correct, or too broke and unemployed to go.

I've never been there, but since I've lived in LA for years, I figure I might as well check it out.

Wish I could get out there for it...really miss wandering through and trying to figure out how to spend a couple of paychecks...maybe next year. Have fun (take cash if you can, it's easier than trying to deal with debit/credit cards)

Ya, I'll take cash. I just can't believe no one on this forum is going to the sale or has been there in the past.

The Spetsnaz shovel? I just bought one last week, but haven't had a chance to chop or throw yet. Mean lookin' little thing.

Those spetnaz shovels are awesome. Required 4x4 or car trunk gear with a mora.
I use one for work landscaping, good for digging deep holes and chopping roots.
They really throw as well as the video implies, hits really hard.

I have done some chopping, limbing and splitting firewood with it and it will do the job in a pinch pretty well too.
One of the most versatile cheap tools I own.
Pick up one of those long hunters for a camp kitchen knife, they are cheap as hell right now. Pretty good knife for 10$ with a sheath

I've been a couple times. Might be going this year if nothing else comes up. Some interesting deals on discontinued products, used tomahawks and such. I don't recall any remarkable deals on current stuff. OK way to kill a Saturday morning. You don't actually have to spend anything to get in and they always seem to have interesting low dollar stuff. In the past, I've never spent more than $30 and came home with two or three knives/hawks.

They typically come very dull though.. some times with a file or belt grinder is practically part of the purchase. But once that's over with...

And they wouldn't alarm city-folk as much as if you had, say, a hatchet or machete in the back of your vehicle.

Went to a SOF show in Vegas when CS was there. Scored what I thought were some good deals. Watch some live demos. Pretty cool.

I wish I could go, but there's no way I'm going to be able to. Cold Steel seems to have discontinued a few of their machete styles, and I REALLY want an 18" Spear Point Machete from them. I'm sure they will be selling what they have in stock of those discontinued styles. I've only found one online store that is selling them for a discounted price due to being discontinued, everywhere else still have them listed for the standard price range. I wonder if anyone that's going would be willing to pick me up one and ship it back to Phoenix if I sent the amount via PayPal? Then again, I wonder if it would even be worth it :P
