This is probably a lost cause but does anyone know a source for screws and washers for cold steel ultimate hunters? Also could use a lock bar but I’m sure THATS out of the question. I know someone will ask: it was at a moving sale and a genius tried to modify w file and cheap torx bits

No manufacturer uses screws with a proprietary thread. A hardware store should have the screws and washers you need.

Oops, just found them online. Lots of knife parts stores. Never seen any of that shit in a hardware store though

Next question: I took apart 2 Ultimate Hunters and an American Lawman. Each of them had only ONE nylon washer. on one it was between the bronze washer and the blade and on two it was between the bronze washer and the scale. I know something ain’t right here. Does anyone know where and how many they’re supposed to have?

This UH dis-assembly vid shows one nylon washer along the blade, one bronze washer along the scale. Same for both sides.

Hmm, you might be on the verge of giving them a little too much credit there. 🤭

Galvanic corrosion also requires an electrolyte, so unless this is kept or left in water for an extended period it’s probably not something I’d worry about. I’d guess it is more for the smooth action everyone likes than anything else.

Sweat is an electrolyte. So is rain (due to dissolved CO2). But yeah, it would take a while. I run boats in saltwater, so I guess I have galvanic corrosion in my brain. It gets everywhere!
