OK, but really- aside from the Cold Steel part, what's wrong with the Pendleton Hunter?
Re-evaluating the idea of a shorter general purpose blade for comfortable fit in the UTV's bucket seat on long outings & I was given one last year.

Anybody have much experience with 'em?

I have one. It is one of CS's best fixed blades. Steel is great , no chipping or any problems. It's a compact package for hiking. Thick blade for it's size but still slices well. Easy to sharpen. I'd have no problem in the bush if it was my only knife. Great whittler , food prep and general blade. My main blades are Esee though but I bring the Pendleton as my back-up knife. Good small fixed blade for the money.

I've got a mini and as much as I hate neck knives of any ilk this this thing is pretty darn nice as long as I use the sheath as a sheath was meant to be used. I don't know how the thing could fall apart though. It's a rubber handle and a blade and tang? Explain with pics if you can it would be appreciated. I may just grab the large just to have it. keepem sharp

Hiwa,
Thanks.
I've had the Pendleton sitting here on my desk for a year now. Keep getting drawn back to it.
Handled the ESEE line at the SHOT Show & was quite impressed by the 4.
I'm considering both at the moment.

When I'm in the Yamaha's bucket seat, there's just no room for anything big, even my beloved Ka-Bar can get cramped.
3.5-4 inch blade is looking to be indicated.

If I were going to be on foot for long periods, it'd be different, but....

Jack, Ud & Long,
Never seen one of the CS Kratons come apart. :)

Short,
Actually, the Master Hunter was a gift the year before. :D
It's another one under consideration, the Pendleton seems to fit my hand a bit better & provide a shade more control.

I know there are preferences between flat grind & hollow, but this little PH I'm thinking should handle most routine business OK. Thick spine is a confidence-builder.

I have the mini, and it's been a handy little knife for me. It hardly weighs anything, and I keep it clipped to a packstrap where it's handy and unobtrusive.

I just got one cause my friend has used his for cleaning deer for several years and he loves it. seems really strong and I especially like the locking system

Hi, all
there's a thing that I can't find surely: what is the meaning of cold steel's full tang?
I mean, they say that is not a real full tang, or however not in the way we intend it, but the question is: where the blade inside the handle ends?

Thanks.

The Mini is my mountaineering knife. It's perfect! Small, light, rubber handle (great for no glove winter use), fairly tough, and fix blade so nothing to freeze or fail.
