well just got in my cs pipehawk.. overall I'm not going to complain its only $32 out of pocket what more could I ask for?? The handle seems a little long as it doesn't throw well, balance is off or (I'm off :D)..

I plan to do some slight mods and make this a work in progress thread as I get the chance..

here it is out of the box..

It's a great alternative to the CS Trail Hawk - a bit broader blade and a wee bit heavier. For the price what more could you ask for as you say.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. One of these has been on my wishlist for a long time for a fun mod project but I'm not ashamed to say that even $35 is more than I have to spare at the moment. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Nice looking axe. The correct length usually advised for a tomahawk/axe helve is from your clenched knuckles to your elbow. I found this to be too short. Perhaps okay if you are standing close to the target, but for my liking it gives too many revolutions.
Also the (trade) axe tends to have a lighter head, & I like a longer helve because it gives me more power to the stroke. I suggest you try it out for a while & make up your own mind what suits you best.

I've thought about getting one of those and hammering out a copper collar to put on the haft directly below the head.

The reason being I've found with these new CS tomahawks the eye is a bit short and the heads tend to loosen up easier because of this.

I have both the CS Trail Hawk and the CS Pipe Hawk, and for my money, the Pipe has the Trail hands down. It may be a bit heavier, but that weight translates into a LOT more hitting power, which is just what I want in a 'hawk. Can't wait to see your mods! Keep us posted!
