I have a pocket bushman in the mail and I would love to hear your opinions and experiences with the knife. I am aware of the problems with the old ram lock and some blade failures. Despite that, I feel that with the improvements on the lock, that this will make for a good hard use folder. Let me know what you think.

This thread will not end well.

I like the Pocket Bushman for it's slim profile and positive lock. While the Krupp 4116 steel is not the top of the heap, it gets the job done. Follow the directions on the Cold Steel website to avoid 'user error' while closing the blade.

I bought one when I first started following this forum. I wanted to see the pocket bushman and a Cold Steel product- both subjects of great debate.

The knife is big and is sturdy. I have had no problems with the lock but you do have to pay attention and avoid careless handling.

The blade stays sufficiently sharp for my purposes. The only problem is I have no practical use for this particular knife so it stays in a drawer or bottom of a daypack.

I see the knife as a novelty more than an EDC, mainly due to its size.

If I had it to do over, I would not buy the knife but that is a personal choice not a problem with the quality of the Pocket Bushman itself.

It feels to me like an inexpensive Spyderco Military.

It's excellent when open-very robust and surprisingly comfortable, fine blade grind and nicely finished.

When closed, it's slim and lightweight, and carries remarkably well. The lock is extremely strong, and very difficult to open with one hand-impossible to close with one hand too.

It works on much the same principle as a "portable desktop" PC. Open, use, use use, leave open, and only close when you pack up for the day.

Don't use the CS directions for closure. I use mine often and have done a few quick videos demonstrating methods of closure, including one that I find MUCH safer than the officially endorsed method.

Love it. Cheap, long edge, one-piece-handle and super strong lock makes this a good deal. It is easy to sharpen as well.

Great knife, but get a good health insurance policy with a LOW DEDUCTABLE - slicing a tendon with a CSPB cost me 10k.
