CS is having a closeout on em-cheep. Mines on the way. Little customization and it should be pretty nice. Strip the ugly black paint. A little sanding and dremel work on the haft, stain and some tacks.... maybe blue or etch the head....ill be sureand post pics:)

welcome to the Poleaxe family! I cant wait to see your finished product. i got mine a month and a half ago and just assembled as directed. one thing that helped me fit the shaft into the axe head was running a dremel with a stone inside the shaft tube. there are some burrs sticking inward from when they drilled the holes.

after seeing another member's project i think i may do some modding of my own. i want to shorten the shaft, take off the langettes and fill the screw holes, take off the hammer and remove the ugly paint. i just have to work up the courage for my first big type project .

best of luck and i'll be looking for your pics  - Eric

If anybody has trouble fitting the pole, I used a hand-file to rub just enough off of the wood for insertion into the socket. The actual difference was maybe half of 1mm off of the circumference.

Excellent-thank you! mine should be here the 27th...-i hadn't realized there was already a thread...whoops.:p
