Cold Steel question

I have two older Cold Steel Voyagers that I picked up in the mid-90s. These had pocket clip built into the frame. One is a normal clip point and the other is a tanto, both non-serrated. Also, both are made in Japan. I'm almost certain I bought the clip point first. What I'm curious about is that the clip point has Cold Steel printed on one side and Voyager made in Japan on the other while the tanto has those things engraved into the blade. Does anyone know when they switched from printing to engraving the name? (Assuming I remember correctly and the clip is older.)

While they no longer do it for me, I gotta say, they both sill lock up really well. I certainly didn't put them through much more than opening a box here and there, but I was impressed that they still are quite solid for what they are.
