Cold Steel Recon 1 in AUS10A?

I bought a knife from eBay a couple days ago... probably should have known better. It is labeled as a Cold Steel Recon 1 . I noticed today that the steel wasn't actually in the description (although it did say new in box). DID COLD STEEL EVER MAKE A RECON 1 IN AUS10A? I cannot find any evidence that they did. I know their first runs were AUS8A. Did I buy a fake?

Not sure about the full size, but the re-released Mini Recon 1 is AUS10A.

So, to be clear, does the knife, box, or any of part of the advertisement list the steel as AUS10A? Or is there absolutely no indication as to steel type?

My understanding is that the AUS8 models had "COLD STEEL" and "TAIWAN" printed on the back of the blade and the type of steel was not printed at all on the Recon 1's until CS started using CTS-XHP. So, if your new knife has no indication re steel type, then it is possible you have a legitimate AUS8 model. If you post pictures of the knife (front and back) and the packaging, there may be more clues as to whether it is legitimate or counterfeit.

Also, I think that at least some of them have "s35vn" stamped on the other side. Every picture on OpticsPlanet and other legit sites I have seen appear to have that. But, yeah, the one I paid for on eBay says "AUS10A."

I believe it's a counterfeit.

Although this listing no longer appears on AliExpress, remnants of the listing still exist on the internet.

They've been there for years.

Ebay are lazy asses, that don't care, until people bring it to their attention.

File a complaint, they usually side with the buyer. What kind of feedback did the seller have?
I told him that that the (full size) Recon 1 was never made in AUS10A, and that I believe it is a counterfeit. Also, I said that I suspect he knew. He said I could return it, and that if I wanted, he would provide a return shipping label. He didn't deny knowing it was counterfeit, but who really knows if he knew or not.

the first run of xhp weren't marked on the blade....had a sticker stuck on the box showing it...and the finish of the dlc was very mirrorish.....
