it is a ridiculously tough knife.
I have used mine for everything from cleaning game, to battoning, to helping dig my truck out of the ditch ( lost my shovel)
it is hands down one of the toughest knives i have ever used!

Thank you guys! I've just sold my Benchmade 522 Presidio Ultra (don't like omega springs and slightly cracked blade tip). The only thing I'm worried about -- there is nothing between blade and handles except washers (some unknown material is used for washers)... Will the blade play in the long-term?

Thanks

the washers are bronze and telfon washers. i have them for almost a month. i have abused it and it shows no sign of blade play. that tri-ad lock is strong as hell

No problems, these things are tough. I have tested them hard and you will always be able to adjust any play out of the pivot.

They look even better when the blade is stripped.

I have the tanto version.the knife was wiked sharp, the finish is decent. There's no side to side movement, keeps an edge very long, when you sharpen it, it goes back to a razor. I have stabed threw 212 pages of the phone book. I have shaved 1 time with it. I have also used it to cut heavy rubber, which it looked and felt like a butter knife goin threw butter. I. Have cut bags of powder concrete, I work in a butcher dept. and I have used it to cut meat. I did a couple tests.

1 slashing at it wbutcher coat and cryovac packaging. No problem. 2 I slashed the meat with just the plastic no problem..3 I stabed into the side of a cow. It went thew no problem it leaves deep cavitys.... It's a super tough handle. Grippy but not to grippy. Handle fits perfect in my hand. I have a 5 inch wide hand and there's a little left stickin out in case u have to hammer striker the person. Awesome knife.......stay away from the pocket bushman, the tip breaks with light use.. Phil out

i have tanto and spearpoint and i prefer spearpoint over tanto, and they are coming out with recon xl with 5 1/2 inch blade

i agree with you, i stripped my recon 1 spear point and tanto and micro recon 1 tanto. it looks beast.
i wished cold steel sell them that way

Cold steel is too tactical for that. I was also thinking of getting one. Tanto, spear point, or clip point?
