Picked one up for father's day. Went to reset the edge and was surprised I could not quite get it to 27° without the bevel becoming huge. Time for a regrind. Thinned it down and then re-established the flat for the thumb studs. This is a straight up Norton Blaze 120 grit finish. Was going to Scotchbrite it after, but the transition from the flat to the primary is so subtle I didn't want to do anything to soften it. Still not great, but am slowly getting better at doing these cosmetically as well as functionally.

All in all a good knife at a good price, Aus 10A steel is not bad for edge holding and the TriAd lock is still one of the best on the market.

Wow that came out nice.

Did you use a belt grinder? I'm unfamiliar with Norton Blaze, but I see it comes in belts and discs.

Yeah, this was all done on a 2x48 Multitool belt adapter for an 8" bench grinder, I used a home-made guide as well. Jumbo Sharpie is invaluable.

I did a lot of it with a 50 grit belt and then successively lighter passes on the 120. I'd love to get to a point where I can finish by hand but am not there yet if ever.

That regrind looks good. Wish I could do that kind of thing.

What did the edge width (BTE) turn out to be.

I don't actually know. I verified the angles per side were the same but don't recall what they were. Its thin though. At the spine is the same thickness as a #3 Mora.
