I purchased a Cold Steel Recon 1 with a tanto style blade a few weeks ago and love it. I was wondering if anyone out there has much experience with this item and what you think of it.

I purchased one of the Clip-Point, plain-edged models a few months ago and like it very much. I am quite happy with it. I have seen at least 3 different postings on the Recon 1 series in the past few months, since they have been available.
It seems that not very many other people like them from these other posts. I am a big Cold Steel fan and have gotten great performance from their blades. I plan on getting some more of their products soon.

I like CS knives also. This particular knife didn't grab me, so I'm not buying one. I wish they would offer it in Carbon V, I have some of their Voyagers in AUS8. I like the knives, they are easy to sharpen, but they don't seem to keep their edge very long. I really like their carbon steel knives...

I got a chance to look at a tanto and a clip point version of the Recon I at a retailer. While I like the Ultra-lock mechanism on it and the Zytel handles have a good feel, I don't care for the Teflon coating at all. If Cold Steel were to release them with un-coated satin finished blades, I'd get one.
