Whats up all, this is my first post. I just received a Cold Steel Recon 1 that I ordered. Man it's quite a bit bigger than I thought it would be! As far as i'm concerened thats good though. I've owned other knives such as the old Benchmade CQC7 and I always thought the handle was too small for me. Anyway I've had the Recon for 3 days now and am impressed in every way. Anybody else have any experience with one good or bad?
 
I've handled them in stores before but all had more play than I wanted. Maybe if they were tightened a bit that would change. It seems to be just as strong as a Benchmade axis lock.
 
So far I haven't had any blade play whatsoever, side to side or up and down, time will tell I suppose. I must be the only one impressed with them I don't think I've seen anyone post the fact that they have one.
 
Always thought that they were cool looken but was never willing to dish out the $ for one. Would rather spend my money on a benchmade.:)
 
I know exactly what you mean. If I could get a Benchmade the size of the Recon and for 75 bucks I would definitely get it. Alas such is not the case so I guess...... I bought the knife knowing it would be a trial and error type of purchase so if it doesn't hold up I guess I'll chalk it up to Research:)
