Cold Steel Safe Keeper I?

Hey gang,

Whilst browsing around this afternoon, looking over the Safe Keeper knives, I noticed that there's a shot on some sites of a Safe Keeper I that has a rather large blade on it. I also note that it's no longer for sale at most places I've seen.

Does anyone know where one could possibly acquire one of these, or find more information on them? I'm tempted to put up a want ad for one, but I figured that I would get a little more info first.

Thanks for your input!

Watch ebay they come up, never too steep a price either.
They are aus 6 or aus8 steel. I have the middle sized one the handle is a good size, solid feel to it. The drawback is you will never really cut anything with it because of the awkward handle, so after the novelty wears off you will put it in the drawer. It is a single purpose knife designed to punch slash and thrust.

Thanks for the heads-up, Drew.

I used to have both the Urban Skinner, and the Terminator push-knives from Cold Steel, back in the day, but someone made me an offer on them that I couldn't resist at the time.

I've contemplated picking up a Safe Keeper II, but knowing there's a Safe Keeper I with a much larger blade, makes me want to see if I can snag one of those instead.

I totally agree with you about the novelty, so my train of thought is to get the rarer of the three, and save it for a rainy day.

Thanks again!

I agree with Drew. These are very cool to look at and I have considered buying one numerous times. Problem is what he stated......it's a self-defense knife, plain and simple, with few other practical applications. Plus, on the negative side, a cop finding this kind of knife on your person will think the same thing. :D He won't think that you have it for self defense......a knife like this is almost a sure trip to the slammer.
