I've carried a Cold Steel SafeKeeper II for years..it's a great little backup knife for my primary tool (pistol)..but it's a little worn out after years of carry/training/etc.
So I look around at Cold Steel's website a week ago for a replacement, and find that their new line of SafeMaker I has replaced the SafeKeeper II (at least it's about the same size/design) with a few "improvements".
Overall, the blade is slightly more tapered and there is more rubber on the grip/handle - all good moves, in my opinion.
But, WHY oh WHY did they ruin a perfectly good push-dagger by making the blade chisel ground!?
It's just a cheap way of getting a thin, sharp edge and I'm sure it would've added a few more bucks to do it right and grind both sides, but hell I'd be willing to pay more for quality.
Very disappointed.
