Cold Steel San Mai vs Fallkniven laminate...

I have a Cold Steel San Mai SRK and was curious about how it stacks up against the steel laminate used in the Fallkniven A1. Any thoughts?

I think it is sort of a different league. Cold Steel San Mai is more for looks in my opinion. There is no practical reason for making San Mai with VG-1 as a middle layer. VG-10 or G3 in Fallkniven is a different story. That is my take on this.

Cold Steel's San Mai is excellent. VG1 may actually be a better laminate core choice in the larger hard use blades as VG1 is tougher than VG10 for a very small trade off in edge retention. I'm willing to bet that in a blind test you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two.
