Since seeing it in a Cold Steel catalog, I've wanted to pick up a Cold Steel Sisu. The price has kind of put me off, but I've never seen one used, or any reviews on here. At a gun show over the weekend, a dealer had one of the knives that inspired the Sisu, I should have written down the name of the knife. Anyway, I was set to buy it, until I found out the price. Without doing any research on it, I decided to pass. It was going to be a user. The makers mark was very faint, but it began with a T. A lot to go on. Anyway, I posted this here because you guys and gals might be familiar with it. It appeared to be carbon steel, same handle as the CS Sisu. It was even stamped Sisu. The Cold Steel Finn Bear is a poor mans version of this knife. I have the dealers contact information, and this knife has been on my mind a lot lately. Thanks

Dan

The original of the Sisu was designed by Tapio Wirkkala and manufactured by Hackman of stainless steel. I bought one years ago for something like $30. They may go for about $200 now if the condition is good and the buyer really, really wants one.

I bought one today for $50 from the orginal owner - new and unused, purchased in 1971. It seems that even used in fair shape they bring in $150/$200 these days. I think I done good...

I bought the regular model, and the smaller version, from a member on here. Both great users. Both are well used, but still good knives.

IIRC, the Sisu was in this year's July 4th Cold Steel sale, which starts a month or two before the holiday, for about $115. I regret not buying one then, but am hoping they might do the same thing in 2011.
