Cold steel special forces shovel! Let's see those mods!

I've had mine for a while now and haven't got round to modding it yet! So, let's see what you've done for ideas!

I'm thinking of stripping the paint, patinating it and reshaping the handle.

This is mine right now..

I don't have one, but if I did I'd reprofile the blade, mount a wheel on it and turn it into a wovel!

But in all seriousness, I'd thin the blade out a lot, make a lightweight handle for it, and use it as a poop hole digger when I'm backpacking

I nitro'ed the head earlier and wire brushed off the paint. It's a bugger to get off but I managedin then end - albeit with a chunk of meat missing from my finger!

I will convex the edges, thin the over kill handle down as it's just way too fat. Drill a lanyard hole, maybe groove the grip area and strip & coat the handle with oil and see how it feels!


Finding pictures of modded ones doesn't seem to show many results so it would be good to see what is out there!

Looks old now! better than before by a mile imo.

All I did was sharpen mine. I use it to dig a latrine when primitive camping mostly.
