Anyone own one of these they care to comment on? I sure like everything about it except the price tag. Just looks like a really great user to me.

Interested in edge holding, overall quality and if the thing is really worth the sticker asking price.

Look at how thick the stock the blade is made from is! And considering how narrow the profile is it probably is NOT a knife made for fine slicing. It looks like it would be really good for stabbing things.
Seriously, its like a folding version of their "spike" one-piece boot knives- thick, narrow blade with great tip strength but not really a cutter, and about a zillion times more expensive. I like the spike, its worth the price, but the folder just seems too nonfunctional to justify spending that much on.

I like the Spectre and the Caledonian Edge, but I won't pay that kind of money for them. Their Barry Dawson spikes are 420, like the Spectre, strictly designed for jabbing someone. At least the Caledonian Edge is a slicer. :p

I don't know of anyone who has one of these San Mai knives.

I really like the look of the spectre too, and the talon. but if they want to justify the price they are going to have to tell us a little more about the san-mai steel.

I'm interested is some steel specs as well
