Cold Steel Spike- Drop Point or Talon Point?

I am interested in buying a Cold Steel Spike and am wondering what the pros and cons of these two blade styles would be (I am not interested in the tanto style blade shape)?

I would be carrying the blade as a defensive tool for stabbing rather than slicing, as I understand the strengths and weaknesses of this particular style of knife.

I guess I would just like to hear some opinions before making a final decision.

Thanks in advance,

I think you understand the geometry of these blades, and have answered your own question. A hawksbill or talon-shaped blade is a slasher. This one has too obtuse an edge angle for that. Go with the drop point.
