Your mystery knife is most likely the Cold Steel Shinobu. These were excellent lockbacks turned out by CS several years ago. I would assume the price and lack of clip and one-hand opening may have been the downfall of them. Thats too bad, as IMO they were massively strong work-horse knives.

They also had some clip-point versions as I recall, they were called clip-mates I think.
