cold steel sr 1 replacement washers

has anyone replaced the teflon washers on their cs sr1 with phospher bronze washers,
and did it work ok? thanks all.
 
I did this not with an SR1 but the CRKT M16. Worked fine. I just had some scrap knives laying around and found some that were close to the same size as the teflon ones.
You can order phosphor bronze washers from various online knife parts sellers. Just try to understand the measurements as they may be different from what you are accustomed to.
 
ok, if no one has replaced with pb washers,does anyone know where i can get oem
teflon washers? cold steel customer services have not even bothered to answer me.

The only way you will get a hold of Cold Steel is making a phone call and hoping for the best.
I cannot place links due to Blade Forums rules with non supporters of the site. That could earn me an infraction.
But if you type in Phosphor Bronze washers knife on a search engine. ETSY, And various knife part sellers links will pop up. Take some initiative and do a search on the net.
When I was a kid we did not have the luxury of finding stuff on the Internet. And would have to wait 8 to 12 weeks when ordering parts.
I wish I had the resources as a kid that I have today.
