Hey all,

Excited too get my CS SRK in 3v in. Paid 136.00 with free two day shipping. Thought that was a really good price for the steel quality and shipping. Any thoughts on the knife, sheath, steel, etc?

I have a master hunter 3v which appears to be the same knife except 4.5" FFG blade.
I really like the handle, very comfortable to use. The DLC coating seems pretty durable.
I haven't gave the steel a fair chance yet. It chipped out pretty bad clearing brush off a chain link fence (edge got into the fence). It sharpened out real easy though. I'm hoping it was just a bad edge from the factory and not the whole blade. I have run into this before. For comparison, I have a few knives that that show little to no damage when getting into the fence, at thinner geometries.
I like the sheath too.

This is in cpm 3v? Yes the vg-1 and vg-10 can and does chip. Yes the master hunter does seem too drop off rapidly into a thin blade.

I cleared brush with my 3v master hunter and it remained sharp. no link fence in the way but it worked great its all I had at the moment. I think its the best version of the master hunter ive used yet.The srk 3v should be another great one. And getting it for 60.00 off the exchange like new made it an absolute steal. It put my garberg purchase in the grave....

Sounds like an awesome knife. Not too crazy about the price tho but, I guess that's just going to be the new norm for much of the commercial knife industry.

For some reason, price inflation has been wildly out of control for the last several months. (imo anyways)

Hope the OP posts a pic :D

Yes 3v, not vg1 or vg10. The chips didn't reach the primary grind. Don't know exactly what the original edge angle was, but suspect around 40.

My two Cold Steel Pendleton Hunters (one is the Mini) are 3V and I use the heck out of them.
Verdict :
