Hello all. Newbie here with a question on which Cold Steel SRK version I have. The model number is 38CK with Secure-Ex sheath. On the SRK History thread here, I found the following:
2005 - 2006.....#38CK..........Carbon V..........Epoxy................Secure-Ex
2007 - 2010.....#38CK..........AUS 8A.............Teflon................Secure-Ex
2014...................#38CK..........AUS 8A.............Tuff-Ex..............Secure-Ex
Can anyone tell by the pictures if the coating is Teflon or Tuff-Ex? I assume it is not the Epoxy Carbon V version because it was made in the USA- I think. I hope the pictures post. This is my first attempt at this.

It is one of the AUS8 SRKs since it was made in Japan.

It also has a different handle pattern than the Carbon V SRKs which were checkered.

It has a flat saber grind while the SK5 version has a hollow grind.

The flat type finish was also used on the AUS8 versions while the Carbon V and SK5 are textured.

Thank you for the reply. I figured it one of the AUS8 versions. I was wondering if there is a difference between the texture of the Teflon and Tuff-Ex coatings or are they indistinguishable..
