I just bought one of these the other day after reading lots of overall good things about the SRK design. The SRK was one of the first knives i ever wanted but never did buy because of money issues. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the san mai 3 steel? I am keeping a very open mind about it as i am not going to assume anything. I am going to post a FULL review on the knife upon arrival..It shipped yesterday from B.C. so i am expecting it probably monday?

So if any of you have experience with this knife good or bad and with the san mai 3 steel, please post pics and your opinion! I dont care if it was the worst knife you ever owned or one of the best i'd like to ehar about it..and YES i beat the hell out of the search engine on this forum and was not satisfied with what i found about the knife..I couldnt find a good review.

I used the SRK knife when i was in the military, I had the Aus8 version. The knife performed very good! Love the bladeshape and handle. I did reprofile the edge though, the original grind was a bit too steep.
Used the knife 2 years and beat the hell out of it, it did everything from cutting sausage and bread to pry open ammo crates, baton and hammer down tent poles in frozen ground. I also used this knife in the Norwegian winter with -35 celsius and it still held up.

In the end my SRK actually broke. Well not the blade itself but the handle came loose, so i could feel approx 1mm of slack between the handle and the blade. Went to the store and got it replaced. They said it were a production fault. So i guess you will be more lucky than i were. Allthough, getting a brand new one replacing that old one wasnt bad.

I dont know how that san mai steel will perform, but im sure u will be happy with it..

And sorry if my english isnt perfect, im a Norwegian.
