Years ago I was at Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Tennessee, and they were selling a stag version of the SRK. It was just like the stag Trailmaster but much smaller. I have always been a huge fan of my SRK I have used the hell out of it and it has never failed me. I wanted to pick up one of these stag ones(they looked damn cool!) but I did'nt have the money with me at the time. Man do I regret it now. Not only can I not find one anywhere, but I can't even find anyone else that's even SEEN one. It was years ago that I saw them. Has anyone ever seen one, or own one for that matter?

Welcome to Bladeforums!

That's an interesting concept. I never heard of one myself. Could it have been a limited run of customized SRKs, rather than a factory version?

You could have a custom maker re-handle a srk for you.

Not sure if the regular SRK's tang big enough to put scales on it. If you know a doctor, you could ask him to x-ray the handle to find out.

Mortise cut a piece of stag and it'll look fine with a hidden tang.
I think the price of stag is the real problem :grumpy:
