I've decided to pick up one of these, just not certain which one at the moment Both are very simular knives in design. Would like to hear your opinions on which one you prefer and why. Thanks for any opinions.

srk. i have one. love it. i cant seem to break it. the grind helps too with batoning. and if you were to use it as a tactical fighter, im sure it would excel in that also. i dont have a nw ranger but i have heard that the flat grind is a pest sometimes. thats all. if i were you, get the srk, its stout, and probably one of my favorites, in fact, im going to get another!:D

I really like the NW Ranger design over the Cold Steel. I wish they'd put it out in SK5 steel.

dont have either but have read positive reviews on both, but come across more strong testaments for the srk, esp the carbon V version. northwest ranger is newer though, keep in mind so maybe less input out there.

I've wondered the same thing. Im a fan of the flat grinds personally.

ive just heard that the grind isnt good for batoning, i had a flat grind knife one time and id served its purpose, but i couldnt sharpen it to save my life. (never have been good at sharpening) so i convexed it
