Cold Steel SRK ?

i ran a search using only "SRK" as my criteria, and found a veritable wealth of information. you might give that a shot, rather than starting a new thread; i think you'll find the existing info to be quite exhaustive.

The SRK is a classic - yes it's a good knife. Pretty heavy duty though - you would probably be served better by the Master Hunter for most cutting chores.

I owned an SRK for a while before selling it. It was a sturdy knife; I have no complaints about its quality in terms of blade steel , blade geometry, weight, size... The blade itself was fantasticly sturdy. However, the Kraton grip drove me crazy. I have a big hand, and the rather large grip (large in terms of circumference) should be been comfortable but it wasn't, probably due to the checker pattern.

In short, I encourage you to handle one before buying. If it feels good in your particular hand, you should have no problems with its durability. Also, shop around -- I got mine for about $50 including shipping, which is as much as I would pay for it.

Own it. Use it. Love it.
Yeah, the only downside to this knife is the kraton. It feels great when new, but in hard use it will develop hot spots. The guard on mine will just eat into my index finger. But then I think I've only REALLY used this for taking appart tree branches.
Get it, it's worth what you'll pay for it.

I has wondering if the srk was any good?
Yes, it's a good knife. The only "problem" is that it is a little thick. It will still slice ok though.
