Cold steel...steel backspacer?

Hi everyone! This is my first post on the forums so you will all have to forgive me if I am blatantly ignorant. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who,can mill custom parts for knives. Im looking for a stainless steel backspacer to use in my cold steel mini recon 1. The alluminum backspacers used are too prone to having the threads strip out VERY easily. (voice of experience 😢) I would definantly take the weight of a steel backspacer to have the security of steel on steel threads. I wish that cold steel would rethink the whole alluminum business or use steel barrels for the screws to thread into. Threading steel into alluminum just seems a bit pointless to me on a knife designed to be so strong. If anyone else has had the same problems feel free to chime in and if any, what did u do to solve it?

I had a similar problem on a custom Benchmade backspacer where the brass inserts stripped out badly on the backside. If you have access to a machine shop you can buy threaded steel standoffs from McMaster and drill out space for them in the aluminum. That's what I did and it's worked great. No need to mill the whole backspacer.

Great idea! Thanks for the suggestion
What size of standoff would be recommended for this? It would have to be rather small to avoid contact with other screws that are very close. On a side note, I'm thinking of getting more into fixed blade edc's like the izula. That way I can't wreck them with my constant fiddling.

You'll have to figure out the thread of the existing screws or get new screws with the right thread. You'll also have to do some measuring to see if the smallest size standoffs will even fit in the gap
