Never heard of XHP steel. What is it analogous to?

I heard it described as a more stainless version of D2 (made by Carpenter). It's also a powdered steel.

It is Carpenter CTS-XHP steel. As per Carpenter, it's somewhere between high hardness AISI 440C, and More corrosion resistant AISI D2 steels.

Nice! I hope they bring some new steels into their regular production knives. A plain edge spear point Recon 1 in XHP would be nice. Where was your made? Taiwan?
