Cold Steel Sword Cane

Saw a friends Cold Steel Sword Cane the other day and was impressed with it's workmanship for the price that he paid. Many of these sword canes are pretty ratty unless you get into the higher dollar price. Anyone have experience or knowledge of the blade thats being used and it's ability to withstand actual use. Thanks in advance

Pretty disappointed in mine:(

It rattles a lot. The lock isnt very good. I keep having to bend the blade back if I thrust it into so much as a single layer of cardboard. As you know it is a cross shaped shaft of steel with a sharpened point but no edge. I would have expected much more strength from the design. The blade has a ridiculously poor temper. It seems very fragile as a blugeoning tool; I guarentee the thing would fold into a sad wreckage if I gave a full force whack to a tree. It does not live up to anything they have written on thier site about it. Put me off Cold Steel pretty much for good.

I am not sure what I would get in retropect. Maybe save up a whole lotta cash and get http://www.knifeart.com/swordcanes.html one of these. Sword cane isnt all that useful, carrying it here is like 4 different felonies. And it is not like it isnt obvious if you take a good look at it that it isnt a normal cane.

Just my opinion, I have had one for a little over a year.
 
Thanks, for your review. His cane was new and seemed to lock up tight and didn't rattle. It was new though and had cut nothing. I've seen the link for the Burger Sword Canes and have just never spent the money to obtain one. I'd like to see one before making the purchase. Thanks again

I was reading in I think blade magazine a few weeks ago about Cold Steels new line of user swords and there was a cane sword in it, they reviewed it very well from the pics I saw this was not the cheaper made model I have seen before or atleast it looked different from it. Maybe your friend got one of these new ones? might be worth looking into.
